His life

Time Line

 

1908

Born in Tebnin South Lebanon where his father was exiled

1915-1916

His mother passed away and he moved to Acre

1917

Balfour Declaration for a Jewish Home Land in Palestine 

1926

Completed His Secondary Education in Jerusalem 

1927

Joined the AUB and took part in a march in memory of 6th of May and was expelled from Lebanon by the French

1928

Enrolled in the Institute of Law in Jerusalem 

1933

Started practicing Law and got married 

1936-1939

Took part in the Great Palestinian Revolution 

1945

Founded the Arab Media Office in Washington 

1948

Palestinian Crisis and Refugees, he moved with his family to Lebanon

1950-1957

He moved to Cairo and became Assistant Secretary General for the Arab League and Syrian delegate to the U.N. 

1957-1962

delegate of Saudi Arabia to the U.N. where he defended Arab Causes and Liberation movements 

1963

Representative of Palestine in the Arab League  

1964

Attended the first Arab Summit and Founded the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)

1965

Established Broadcast and Research center for the PLO and visited China 

1967

Israel Occupied the West Bank, Ghaza and other Arab territories. He withdraw from Khartoum summit and resigned chairmanship of PLO  

1968-1979

Wrote his memories and nationalist publications

1979

Camp David Agreement between Egypt and Israel. He moved From Cairo to Tunis then to Amman for medical treatment 

1980

He died in Amman and was buried upon his will in Ghor Abou Obaida Al-Jarrah

1980-2010

Articles and Books were written and meetings held to commemorate him
